Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd & The Calder Valley

Get your kicks on route 66, they say. Come cycling in Hebden Bridge, and you choose between route 66 (the national trans-Pennine cycleway which here follows the Calder valley) and the more strenuous pleasures of route 68, the 'spine of England' route which links Derby and Berwick-on-Tweed. Some of our inclines are nationally unique - try to one out of Mytholmroyd!

There are ample opportunities to venture off-road, too. What were once mediaeval tracks for packhorses have become peaceful bridleways through the heart of the south Pennine landscape. The Pennine Bridleway is close at hand. Or try the Hebden Loop, a tough 13 mile circuit from Hebden Bridge town centre popular with local mountain bikers.

Helpfully, Hebden Bridge's local Metro Connect buses are equipped with cycle racks.
