Holmfirth & The Holme Valley - Last Of The Summer Wine Country
A walk with AshleyThis walk has been planned by artist Ashley Jackson specially to introduce you to the Holmfirth area and there is an accompanying booklet available from the Tourist Information Centre in Holmfirth. The booklet explains how this remarkable town and its' surrounding countryside has influenced Ashley Jackson as an artist since he moved to Holmfirth in 1972 and opened his first studio in the town in 1981. During your walk, Ashley advises that you occasionally stop along the way to drink in the fantastic landscape created by Mother Nature.
All of the walk is on hard surfaces but there are some steep inclines and steps which make the walk impossible if using a wheelchair and difficult if pushing a buggy.
