Haworth, Bronte Country & Forest Of Trawden

Pennine Way Widdop and Haworth

The Pennine Way was the first National Trail developed in England, and snakes over the South Pennines on its way north to Colne.  From Hebden Bridge up through Hardcastle Crags to Widdop is a long haul and a rest is much appreciated at the Packhorse.  From there the walk takes in the airy heights across Wadsworth Moor and Top Withins with views up to the Dales on a good day.  A detour to Haworth's Bronte Parsonage is worth the effort and the Wuthering Heights pub at Stanbury is good for a break as is The Fleece in Haworth........
