Ilkley & Ilkley Moor

Watershed Walks - White Wells

A full illustrated leaflet of this walk can be obtained from Manor House Museum in Ilkley www.bradfordmuseums.org  or from Ilkley Tourist Information Office www.visitilkley.com

This walk takes you from White Wells car park on Wells Road south of Ilkley up a gradient and across the moor on well used paths to the Blackstone Beck enclosure, where there is evidence of prehistoric settlement and some rock art.  In some areas the natural stone has been quarried and split for use as building stone and you can see chisel marks on the remaining rocks.  The views from the high points on this walk are quite splendid on a fine day and will entice you to return and explore further.
