Ilkley & Ilkley Moor

Middleton Woods, Ilkley
A pleasant walk initially up hill to gain views from the North side of Wharfedale via scenic Middleton Woods which is a haven for wildlife. Middleton Lodge is run as a Retreat House by the RC Archdiocese of Leeds and is not open to the public. The Stations of the Cross at Calvary close by is open to all and was commissioned by Sir Peter Middleton in the mid nineteenth century. It is an outdoor oratory devised for meditation and prayer.
